Gendai Reiki Ho, founded by Hiroshi Doi, faithfully preserves the philosophy and teachings of Usui Reiki Ryoho, developed by Mikao Usui. It is a practice of Usui Reiki that remains true to its original purpose—spiritual growth—as envisioned by Mikao Usui.

The journey begins with hands-on Reiki practice, gradually building healing experiences to first heal oneself and nurture a peaceful heart. Through daily Reiki practice, practitioners focus on the Gokai, the Five Precepts, as the foundation of their awareness, striving for spiritual growth while studying the philosophy of Mikao Usui. By deepening the resonance between one’s inner Reiki and the Reiki in the Universe, one aims to enhance spiritual development.

In the Gendai Reiki Ho, we uphold the following three mottos:

Usui taught that Reiki is a form of energy and light that fills the universe, creating harmony in everything around us. Our ability to receive it fully depends on how well we've developed our capacity to tune into it. Gendai Reiki Ho offers a variety of exercises for self-purification and self-improvement, helping us enhance our ability to resonate with Reiki. With consistent Reiki practice, we naturally become more resonate with its energy, even without thinking about it.
