But what exactly does relaxation do for us? When our mind and body are tense, we can't fully tap into our true potential. The greatest strength we possess shines when we are relaxed. During a Reiki session, you are gently guided into a state of relaxation, enhancing your body’s natural ability to heal itself. While Reiki is powerful on its own, it also harmonizes with other healing methods, boosting their effectiveness. Throughout the session, Reiki helps increase the flow of your life energy, gradually transforming any negative energy into positive, uplifting energy.
What to expect during a Reiki session
A Reiki session begins with gentle hand placements on your fully clothed body. I start with several positions around the head, holding each for about 5–6 minutes, then move down to the torso, legs, and feet. A typical session lasts around 60 minutes.
During the session, you may notice sensations of energy flow—or you may not. Either way, Reiki energy is working, supporting balance and healing in both your physical and energetic body.
While some people expect dramatic sensations or vivid visuals, I encourage you to simply relax and let go of expectations. Reiki is a subtle, calming practice, and its true purpose is deep relaxation and energetic harmony.
